I was with the group that Denise Dunphy and Jill Mihalyka brought through (on 12 June) as we prepared ourselves for Royal Ascot. I should say at the outset that I was the only member of the group who didn’t purchase a hat (as I’d brought one with me) - so that probably gives me more authority to comment on our visit!
I wanted to write to you and thank you - money could not buy the experience we all had! On top of that, for all (including me!) there was a demonstration of patience and perseverance that resulted in everyone who needed a hat walking away with something that not only was spectacular in terms of the hardware - but suited them and gave them confidence that what was on their head was nothing short of beautiful. As an example, this was particularly so with one of our group who is height challenged. I noticed (as did others) that she was comfortable with a hat that was grey (for want of a better word - I’m colour compromised) and you took the small swatch she had with her; went away and came back with something perfect. It showed us that there’s grey and grey! She looked beautiful at Royal Ascot - due in no small part to your efforts. Her outfit was stunning, but the hat topped it off.
You also made those who are not used to wearing hats feel comfortable. One of our New Zealand mates reckoned she “never” wore hats. That she purchased three is due to your skills in showing her - very gently - what looked good. She was really happy and very confident with her selections.
There are very many stories I could tell … the above is a short selection.
Thank you Nigel - and your erstwhile Australian assistant - for your efforts. They are very much appreciated and I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to my mates who travel to Royal Ascot.
